Replica French Musket from 1728.

After the invention of flintlocks in the beginning of the 17th century more and more muskets were furnished with the new technology.
Now they surpassed their predecessors in range and reliability.
The French musketeers should be equipped with the new technique too, and so a lot of developments started in France. In 1717 finally the infantry-musket pushed through, and has been in use for more than 120 years, from 1717 to 1840, in several variations.
Later it became known as Charleville Musket.

The model from 1728 and its successor from 1746 were in use at nearly all French troops during the French and Indian War from 1754 to 1762 in North America.
There were three armouries that manufactured these models: Charleville, Maubeuge, and St. Etienne. Since most if the 1728 models were made in St. Etienne, it also was referred to as the St. Etienne musket.

Here we offer a beautiful replica of the 1728 model, equipped with all features of its master: flintlock and ramrod from steel are true to original as well as three barrel bands and a strong trigger from brass.

Our flintlock replicas are intended for decoration or reenactment. The muzzles have not been drilled, so the weapon is not functional.

A beautiful item for every collection and an indispensable accessory for re-enactors.
